Mix up those greens!

Have you heard? It's important to rotate the variety of greens that you consume on a regular  basis!

Wait, what?  Why?

1. Greens are very different! They all have unique compositions and  a variety of nutritious  vitamins  & minerals! Rotate your greens to get as many of these incredible nutrients as possible!

2. To avoid  intake of  certain toxins. Consuming high amounts of only one type of green,  especially when it is spinach, can cause you to experience symptoms of toxicity.

3. To increase the  diversity of COLOR in your diet!  We all know that it is essential to "eat the rainbow"  to  feel good & healthy, so use the abundance of greens available (especially during fall!)  to get  as  much  GREEN in as possible.

TIP:  Mix up your  greens easily and cost-effectively!

Buy one type of green each week  for all of your  recipes,  and change the  variety each week!

Chilly autumn is perfect to start preparing delicious,  warming  breakfast to kick off your day!  This time of year gets  super  busy  and hectic,  so taking  a small amount of quiet time in the morning to lovingly make a delicious  breakfast that is FULL of nutrition is a wonderful way to relax.

Here's one of our favorite  breakfasts  for fall:

Oatmeal, cooked on the stovetop (we added some flax seeds!) with  either our  cashew  or  almond milk--it's  simply  yummy &  made with love

Top  with  dried  fruit (we love cranberries) and  nuts (these are almonds, pumpkins, pecans, and pistachios!)

We  also  think  coconut  shavings,  fresh  berries,  or  even a few  chocolate chips would be yummy! :)

Add a sprinkle of cinnamon, cardamom, or any  favorite warming spice. We love  this breakfast with a warm cup of chai tea (we  added some of our  homemade almond milk to that too!!).

Grab a White Birch  Juice the  day before, to round out your  breakfast  with some  fresh, cold-pressed (and  tasty!)  nutrients!

I scream; you scream; we all scream for ice cream! Indulge in this simple & DELICIOUS ice cream recipe. It just has two, pure, healthy  ingredients!

Picture
Ingredients (per 1 generous serving):

2 frozen bananas

¼ cup almond milk (we like our hand-pressed almond milk, which has a touch of vanilla and agave)

Any mix-in’s! This is the perfect time to unleash your creativity.   We added some chopped dark chocolate and fresh mint on top.

OR replace the almond milk with one of our creamy juice flavors--We think Orange Dream, Pineapple Paradise, or Coffee Almond Zazz would be AMAZING.

Just add the bananas and almond milk into your high-powered blender or food processor. Pulse until smooth.

Use a spatula to scrape the sides a few times throughout the process.

Did you love last week's  local market meal?    We loved it so much that we are bringing a  recipe, featuring White Birch juices or local ingredients, to you each Monday!

This week: An easy, delicious summer salad dressing  featuring our strawberry, pineapple, apple, orange juice-- Pink Punch!

Recipe:

1 tablespoon Pink Punch juice

1/2 teaspoon  Apple Cider Vinegar (we like ACV for its yummy taste and its  health benefits, but you can replace with balsamic, or anything you like!)

1/2 teaspoon oil (we like coconut or olive! This is optional, and omitting oil makes this recipe low fat and low calorie!

We added a bit of fresh mint from  our herb garden  and some salt & pepper to taste!

Drizzle over your favorite lettuce and salad fixings (maybe even add some sliced strawberries--yum!), and enjoy!
