How do you find out about us?
It seems like so long ago, but I believe there was this rumor going around the Resident Acting Company at Barter that there was about to be a juice bar opened up in Lum and Sue’s. So, we continued to look for it until it actually showed up! And we’ve all been hooked since!
How does drinking juice and/or juicing fit into your life? Has it changed your lifestyle? How?
Back toward the end of 2014, I started using essential oils in my life as a means to support my body. I started focusing on how I could really use the all-natural resources of the Earth to support my body. White Birch just made total sense to me and my body. So, I knew nothing about juicing or the benefits (except what I’d read online), and THANK GOD for Nicole and her amazingly knowledgeable staff and their guidance and advice. Not only is the staff full of wonderful information and support, but they always seem to be smiling and having a great day—and who doesn’t need more positivity in their life?! Juicing has opened doors for me that I didn’t know were there. Now when I am in the middle of a long rehearsal day, and feeling a bit of a slump, I don’t need to go grab a soda—I can go grab a delicious, nutrient-filled juice (or 2)!
Have you done a juice cleanse? If yes, tell us a little about your experience! What did you like about it? What was difficult?
Yes! I stumbled upon the idea. I had been feeling pretty crappy—can I say crappy? Oh well—and I wanted to change it up. I wanted to do a cleanse that was geared toward my liver and the immune system. So I worked with Nicole and she formulated a cleanse for 3 half-days. First half of the day was juicing, and the second half of the day was eating raw. I really loved all of the juices. Starting the day with Turmeric Tonic was definitely a shock to my system. The cleanse was a challenge, but in the best way. By the end of the cleanse, I definitely felt better, lighter and more useful to the world. I think that it’s super important to pair the cleanse process with something like prayer, or meditation—something spiritual. It will help to focus your energy in the right direction so that people like me who occasionally get hangry (hungry-angry), can make it through easier. And always listen to what your body is saying to you. I hope to do another one in the future!
Is there anything else that you’d like to tell the readers of our blog?
The blog is a wealth of knowledge. You not only get great juice facts and tips, but you get tips on how to UPGRADE YOUR LIFE. And I’m always looking for a new way to upgrade my life, ya heard? Take time for self-care, and while you’re taking time for self-care, drink a juice or a smoothie. YAS!
